HydroSeal 323

New Waterproof and Waterstop Sealing Material, Environment- Friendly

HydroSeal 323 makes a difference

What is ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± and which is its purpose?

¡°HydroSeal 323, a bicomponent new environment friendly waterproof sealing material which has won the national patent for invention, is widely used in protective facing projects for anti-seepage, leak stopping, reinforcement, consolidation and anti-abrasion of hydraulic and concrete structures, eg. rehabilitation and reinforcement of dam, anti-seepage treatment on joints of hydraulic buildings such as reservoirs, dams, canals and aqueducts in large water resources and hydroelectric engineering; anti-seepage sealing of underground works (like mine, tunnel and culvert), oil tank, water reservoir and sewage tank, as well as flex sealing of control joints on the road surface and runway, repair and recovery sealing of cracks on buildings.

¡°HydroSeal 323¡± may also be used as sealant, especially applicable to waterstops for deformation joints (such as dilatation joints, settlement joints and anti-seismic joints) as well as waterstops for pipe connections, bonding and sealing of landing edges and paint film and water resistance, etc. in railway, water works, sewage-treatment plants, underground waterproof joints, power plants, metro, tunnels, industrial & civil constructions, municipal engineering works.

¡°HydroSeal 323¡± can be bonded on oily interface of congeneric petro; and can also be cemented with concrete as repair block in water using polymer of stones mixed with ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±.

¡°HydroSeal 323¡± has formed a standard series of product that can meet the needs of different works

What is ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±? In short:

Function: 1. Water tight; 2. Sealing.

  Advantage: Adhesive in water.

   Why choose ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±?

Since the 1990s, cold applied waterproof sealing materials have appeared one after another, such as elastic thiocol sealing material and water-swellable rubber sealing strip (the former is ordinary in performance and has a short service life, while the latter is poor in long-term bonding effect, and has trouble in construction). And bituminous materials have increasingly failed to satisfy the industrial insiders because of some drawbacks: short service cycle (six months), poor waterproofness, easily harden and break in winter and easily fuse and overspill in summer, and refilling is required at intervals. So joints can easily lose their effect which causes leakage in the working life. However ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±, with its outstanding performance, is the renewed product for waterproof sealing materials such as thiocol and polyurethane.

Features of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±:

1.¡°3 Strenghts¡±: strong adhesive force, strong tension, and strong elasticity.

2.¡°2 Water¡±: underwater bonding capacity; and construction work capacity on aqueous or damp interfaces. The bond strength for bonding rubber into water is the same as that in the air.

3.¡°3 Resistance¡±: freezeproof, heatproof and ageing resistance.

  2. Environmental Friendliness

The National Research Center of Testing Techniques for Building Materials has made an analysis of the impact of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±on water quality, and the test result proves that this material have no impact on water quality and can ensure the safety of drinking water for people and livestock. In addition, ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± is cold-applied and will not produce any pollution during construction.

  3. ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± is able to adapt to the temperature conditions ranging between ¨C30 - +70¡æ keeping its excellent freezeproofness and heat resistance.

  4. ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± has extremely strong cohesiveness after 28 days . The adhesive strength with concretewill reach 1 MPa, which can meet by far the requirements of general canal engineering. The use of prime coat can reinforce the adhesiveness of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±, so this prime coat will only be used in some joint works with high adhesive strength.

  5. ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± has very strong adhesiveness for different substrats such as wood, concrete, marble, steel and glass, and also provides waterproof and strong acid/alkali-proof corrosion.

  6. ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± can be used on damp interfaces and interfaces with water as well as into water.  For the construction into water, the adhesive strength of concrete bonding sample can still reach 0.8 Mpa that is four times of the national standard value (0.2 Mpa). The adhesive strength for bonding rubber into water is the same as that in the air.

  7. ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± has very strong ageing resistance. Its retention rate of tensile adhesion strength (%) is ¡Ý 95 and its retention rate of tensile adhesion elongation (%) is ¡Ý 95 after UV ageing for 168 hours. The test of similar materials in USA shows that the surface ageing surface is only 0.25 mm after exposure in the sun for 30 years.

  8. ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±with a relatively quick solidification, generally, without flow, causes initial setting  after 1 hour, and can meet the requirements of waterproofness within 24 hours of construction. The tensile strength of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± changes in an incremental way as the curing time goes by. Its tensile strength is 0.8 MPa after 3-day solidification (up to 80% of its maximum strength), 0.94 MPa after 15-day solidification (up to 94% of its maximum strength), and reaches the maximum strength of 1.0 Mpa after 30-day. The deformation of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± has less  in the process of solidification with its minimum; Its maximum elongation at break being 357.48% and 566.47% respectively, so it can meet greater deformation requirements.

Using Method for ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± (Taking the canal joint water sealing project as an example):

  1.  In the onsite construction, ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± should be formulated and mixed evenly when needed, and shouldn¡¯t be prepared too much  quantity each time. Group B is denser in winter, so can be heated to make easier pouring it  for mixing, and should be avoid contacting with open fire.

  2.  Clean up the dust and mortar on the waterproof surface or joint cross-section of  the canal useing a high-pressure air or seam-sweeping tool,  The work can also be done on damp surface.

  3.  The prime coat of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± can be applied to the joints at the start for waterproof surfaces or canal joints with high-quality requirements for construction.

  4.  Group A and Group B of ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± are mixed and stirred evenly in the proportion of A: B = 1:1 ~ 1:3, (weight ratio).

  5.  Put the evenly stirred ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±mixture into a solid plastic bag or hoses and embed it in the dilatation joints.

6 .For vertical or inclined joints, seal the glued built-in edges with adhesive tape, and apply pressure with a plastic pipe with its diameter greater than the joint width or sandbag to prevent from spilling. You can also place the evenly stirred ¡°HydroSeal 323¡± mixture until it becomes like ointment, then fill it into the joints by using a wood board affixed with separate paper or a brick trowel based on the glue¡¯s autoadhesion.

  7.  Protect the filled dilatation joints until ¡°HydroSeal 323¡±be fully solidified after 24 hours.

  8.  The product can also be pre-made with various shapes of sealant ointment, and painted liquid of this products on the surfaces and embedded into the joints.
